A really inspiring example of how the idea of green roofs in large scale architectural projects are starting to really evolve into a central part of the main design.
This paragraph from designboom.com explains the project in a bit more detail, starting off by talking about what the school teaches and how that went on to influence the design:

"...offering technical teaching on the subject of automobiles and vehicle mechanics, the brief called for vast volumes with high ceilings and large surfaces. the scale of the program meant that the project involved landscape design, architecture and town planning...envisioned as a clearing between a large park and the city, the development is integrated within its context with green-roofs that cover the workshops below. starting at the edge of the site, the structure’s design features fluid lines and slopes that blend naturally with the landscape. the roof’s design allows natural light to permeate the structure, while protecting internal volumes from the sun’s heat. internally, classrooms are positioned alongside the workshops, sharing a direct visual relationship and connecting intellectual and manual activities..."
